Afterlife with the Boss: Book Review of “Bean Bag Zoo”

The Bean Bag Zoo book series continues with Issue Number Two. The first book in the series was released in May of 2021 and went on to become one of the top selling children’s books in the country. Like the first book in the series, the second book in the series is an all new adventure. In this book, we travel to a new location for the Chihuahua, Brandy and Johnny. We are introduced to a new character, Angelica the mermaid. We also meet some new characters such as Fluffy the Pup and Mr. Big.

One of the biggest complaints that parents have about the Bean Bag Zoo is that the characters seem to go back to their old ways. In the second book, that is not the case. The second book also introduces us to another babysitting jobs for your Chihuahua. While I would not recommend this book for children who have had problems with violence or who have a negative attitude towards animals, I believe that this second book provides an insight into the everyday life of a Chihuahua.

The second book introduces us to Angelica, the new face of Chihuahua babysitting jobs. While I think Angelica has a soft personality, she seems like a very sweet person in these books. One of the first tasks that she is assigned is watching over Johnny. Johnny has moved out on his own, but he still wants to be alone, so he asks Angelica to babysit him. She does not want to do this, but Johnny insists that it is what he needs. What follows is a great friendship that develops between the two, as they work to help each other through their own personal problems.

There are many familiar faces back in the second book as well. We meet Mr. Big and Fluffy. There are also some more background information about the origin of the Chihuahua, as well as some information on the Parkinsons. This second book is very funny, and I enjoyed it right to the end, whereas the first book had some heavy topics and dialogues that dragged on a little too long.

It is always great to have a backup story, even if it is just a follow up on what we have already read in the first book. I liked that after the second book, Johnny could babysit without any complaints from Angelica. I feel that sometimes kids can get a little too easy with things, and I am glad that Johnny can take care of the children while Angelica is off doing her thing. Overall, this second book in the Bean Bag Zoo series is fun for kids of all ages. I would highly recommend this to someone looking for a lighter side of the Zoo. The kids will enjoy it as much as I did.

This second book in the Bean Bag Zoo series really added a little bit of reality to the stories. Although it is still a children’s book, the storyline was a little bit different and I think that could be a good thing for kids who like to see their parents take care of things. I loved both books and would highly recommend them to people who like reading kid’s books.
