The following are some basic rules for the game of cornhole. Any questions on these or any other rule should be brought to the attention of the SPORTSMONKEY league supervisor on site.
Each match is played best of 3 games. Each team will be assigned a number, which determines their order of play during the match. The team with the lowest score at the end of the match will lose the match. During each game, the winning team will earn one point for each bag that stays on the board and three points for each bag that goes through the hole. The losing team will be awarded zero points for each missed target.
In order to qualify for a shot, each player must toss from behind the foul line, which is defined as the line (real or imaginary) that extends out horizontally from the front of the cornhole board in both directions. Players may not lean over the boards or touch any bags outside the foul lines, as doing so will result in a miss and loss of turn.
Players are allowed to adjust their boards and bags only between frames, but must remain within 30 seconds of their opponent’s last bag coming to rest. If a player is found to be adjusting their boards or bags more than once, they will receive one strike and forfeit the current frame.
A missed target is any bag that does not come to rest on the board and contact the ground before being raked up. A missed target can be counted only once per round. If a missed target hits another hit bag, the hit bag is worth one point.
