Cornhole is played between two sets of bags (traditionally filled with feed corn) and a board or platform that holds them. The game is won by getting all four of your bags onto the board during an inning. The bag that goes in the hole earns you three points, while any bag that lands on the ground or hangs off the edge of the board gets you one point.
To make your cornhole legs, first lay the 2 x 4 leg flat on a work surface and mark where to cut. You want the flat side of the leg to be facing the plywood platform and the ‘high’ end of the leg towards the end of the 2 x 4. Make sure you are lining up the leg with the corner of the frame. If it is not lined up properly, the legs will not be able to support the weight of the board.
Next, assemble the frame that will support your top with the hole. Screw the two 20-7/8-inch short sides to the 47-7/8-inch long sides to create a rectangle. Clamp to keep the frame square and secure while you do this.
Place the frame on a large and flat surface and use a box to check that the back of the cornhole board sits 12 inches off the work surface at each point along the back edge. If it doesn’t, mark the point where the board needs to be raised, using a compass. Then, cut the angle on each leg at the marked location with a miter saw.
