How to Set Up Your Cornhole Boards for Regulation
When it comes to setting up your cornhole boards to regulation, every inch counts. A fraction of an inch could mean the difference between a smooth victory and bitter defeat. Knowing the right distance to place your boards and how to measure that distance is crucial. This guide will answer all of your questions and provide you with a professional-grade setup that will have you tossing those bags like the pros in no time.
The areas immediately to the left and right of each board are referred to as the pitcher’s boxes. A line (either drawn or imaginary) extending from the bottom edge of each board in both the left and right direction defines these areas. Players cannot step past this foul line while throwing the bags or else their throw will not count.
After each round of the game both teams add up their match points. Each bag thrown through the hole is worth two match points and any bag that remains on the board and hole is worth one point. The team with the higher match score wins the round and is given honors to throw first in the next round.
