The game of Cornhole is played with a cornhole board which has pockets called “cornhole points”. Each time a player scores in a game, he must take one of these points from his board and put it in the pockets of the opposite player. The first point is called the starting point. Each subsequent point adds one to the starting point. Once a player has reached thirteen points on his board, the other player will have to start taking the points from him or else take off one of their points. This continues until there are no more opponents on the board.
When a player reaches thirteen points, called the end point, that player may remove one of his own points and add it to the next player’s board. If there is less than thirteen points remaining on the boards, this will be called the full point and the game will now end. Any other Cornhole rules that may be stated in the rule sheet may be used here as well. Once the game ends, the person with the most points wins.
If a player lands on his ball while his ball is not in the hole, it is called a “foul”. The player must return his ball to its place on the board or he will be subject to a penalty. Fouls will decrease the amount of points that a player has and depending on the foul, the penalties can range from a small point deduction, to a point deduction and maybe even a loss of points. The penalty points are different for every foul. The player who receives the maximum number of points for each foul is deemed the winner of the game.
